St John’s Wort and Rhodiola Rose
St. John’s Wort, which is medically called as Hypericum Perforatum is an herbal medicine used widely in United States and Europe and the United States. The plant has characteristic yellow flowers and is naturally grown in Oregon and Northern California. It has been in use for more than 2400 years as a popular pain killer, nerve tonic and also as an Arthritis relief. Oflate it has become very popular in treating depression. Depite being a natural herb, it has its own side effects but even then it is widely accepted for its good results. The ingredient of St. John’s Wort is hypericin which inhibits chemical linked with depression called monoamine oxidase.
Naturally occurring 5-HTP or 5-hydroxyltryptophan is metabolite of amino acid tryptophan. Rohdiola rosea has large quantity of yellow blossoms and produces a fragrance when it is cut with blade. Rhodiola rosea is very famous amongst many of the customary remedies of Europe and Asia and has been widely used for many centuries.
