Mint Tea

Mint tea has many of its advantages which have been considered to contain from the very past. It is used as both as a refreshment as well as for medicinal purposes. It is also used as a premium tea in some homes. Mint has a very strong flavor hence mint tea can also be used alone as a quality herbal tea. Mint is sometimes used for garnishing above normal tea. The most common type of mint used for mint tea is peppermint. Sometimes, spearmint is also used but most of the times peppermint is only favored. The reason behind this is that peppermint is known for relieving gas pains. Hence peppermint tea is used as an herbal medicine for curing heartburns, stomach ache and nausea. Peppermint tea is also used as refreshment for those who feel tired after doing a lot of workout.

The procedure for preparing mint tea is as simple as preparing a normal cup of tea. The main point that is to be remembered for the preparation of mint tea is that while boiling water for the tea, some crushed leaves of peppermint are added to it so as to provide a tinge of mint to the tea. Either fresh or dried leaves can be used for providing the taste of mint to the tea. It does not matter what state the leaves are in. both the leaves will provide the same amount of taste. The amount of mint used for preparing the tea should be checked. Over usage of the mint would make the tea taste bitter and would become unsuitable for drinking. For example, a tablespoon of dried leaves are enough for making one cup of mint tea.
